EMDR – Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing

EMDR one of the most effective approaches to personal change and offers a comprehensive approach to facilitate healing.  This evidence based treatment integrates several orientations of therapy and counseling including cognitive behavioral and psychodynamic therapy.

EMDR is an information based therapy that believes that bad experiences, either small, medium, or severe are stored in memory networks, i.e. are frozen  and encoded in our brain as images, thoughts and  feelings.  EMDR also believes that our current thoughts, feelings, and beliefs are linked into these pre-existing memories and experiences. This process of treatment can re-visit earlier life events in a safe way, allowing for deep core transformation.

Having used EMDR hundreds of times, I have witnesses this approach to be highly effective for deep personal transformation and can heal negative experiences including but not limited to severe trauma and accidents, childhood neglect and emotional, physical and sexual abuse, as well as, humiliation, hurt feelings, losses and abandonment.

I have witnessed a vast  majority of people feel better, have improved confidence, higher self esteem, and significant reduction in their presenting symptoms whether it be anxiety, depression or just not liking themselves.
